A Thousand Miles

I apologize in advance if my attention isn’t there,

My mind often runs a million miles a second.

So forgive me if it seems that I don’t care,

But my thoughts requires answers to these questions.

The surface level can’t satisfy my soul,

Spiritual matters often occupy my cerebral.

In an economy where attention is the most valuable form of currency,

To focus that attention feels illegal.

In every direction, distractions are prevalent, to galvanize your conscious and concentration.

To misdirect you from the truth, to subjugate the inner being, to undermine your Revelation.

They say that ignorance is bliss, so I guess that means that understanding fuels your sorrow.

But I can’t ignore the pressure of today, because I’m unable to perceive the issues of tomorrow.

So extend your grace to my space; I’m teaching myself and making mistakes.

I’m just a man that’s out of place, in a world that complicates.

My mind is racing, steady pacing, going a million miles a moment,

I thank God that I’m his child, with this opportunity for atonement.
